OIP 2011 with Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s 3rd Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP) was smoothly conducted for with 36 students and 2 staff members from 5th September 2011 to 7th October 2011. The first leg of the OIP was conducted in NIT Rourkela. Students completed 2 modules on India’s Culture followed by visited and understood IT Automation at the Rourkela Steel Plant followed by the OCL cement factory. They further went for industry visit to Larsen and Toubro, Kansbahal.
The second leg included travel to the city of temples and Odisha’s capital, Bhubaneswar. The students visited India’s #5 IT Outsourcing company – Tech Mahindra and attended a session on ‘IT Outsourcing Best Practices’. They also visited India’s #1 residential tribal school which runs with the objective of providing quality education to the tribal children to help them overcome poverty and injustice.
The team then flew to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur for a series of site visits and industry visits including the famous Taj Mahal, Amer Fort in Jaipur and India Gate in Delhi.
The team then took a flight back to Singapore on 7th October 2011.
