If my parents stay nearby, will I have time to see them?

Yes, there will be occasional evenings when we are very happy for you to catch up with your parents, but this will need to be arranged beforehand so it doesn’t affect your studies.

What is on offer when I am not studying or being taught or tutored?

All our programmes are so designed that there will be a planned schedule from morning 9 am to 6 pm in the evening. We want all our participant to have a cultural immersion as part of our programmes. So we do cover a few tourist spots as part of the programme which will be mentioned on the programme schedule document that will shared 4 weeks before the programme.

How long is the day?

Usually, the day for all the participants will start at 9 am and end by 6 pm. The detailed programme schedule will be provided to the participants 4 weeks before the programme.

How are breakfast, lunch, and dinner organised?

All meals to be taken care by the participants. Our on-campus team will guide them to the food courts in and around the campus.

Breakfast will be at the food court at the place of residence. It costs between S$4/- to S$5/-.

Lunch/ Dinner will be on-site as per daily schedule. The lunch at food courts in NUS is around S$4/- to S$5/- and at city food court around S$5/.

Lunch/Dinner at Universal Studios and Sentosa will be between S$10/- to S$15/-

For Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are very easily available. For Indian food, the budget should be S$7 – S$ 12 for lunch/dinner.

When should I arrive? And leave?

All arrival and departure information will be mentioned in the offer letter once the applicant has secured the position for the programme.

For most programmes, students must aim to arrive post 2 pm on the arrival date as the rooms are not accessible before 2 pm. When it is time to leave, you will need to hand back your room key by 10am and leave the site by 12.00noon on the date of departure. Please note, we cannot accommodate students outside of their programme dates.

Who are the on-course staff?

We will have our fantastic team of people who are dedicated to looking after you and your well being and making sure that you get the most out of your course. There is someone in charge on the campus. They are all trained in working with young people. We will be sharing the details of our on-course team one week prior to the programme.

How much of my own money will I need during a two-week course?

We recommend each participant to carry minimum cash S$ 500/- to meet personal expenses. If feasible, please carry an international debit/ credit card for any personal exigency.

What should I bring with me?

We will send you information closer to your course with details of the types of things you will need to bring depending on the course you are doing.

Can you book my flights and airport transfers?

We don’t book flights for our participants although we do offer an airport transfer service to all our participants. Airport transfer will be provided from Changi Airport to the place of residence by Corporate Gurukul.

How do Airport Transfers work?

On the day of arrival, our team will be at the airport to accompany all the participants to the place of residence in Singapore. Our team details and pick up point details will be provided 1 week prior to arrival date.

On the day of departure, airport transfer will be provided from the place of residence to the Airport by Corporate Gurukul. Arrangements will be made available depending on the flight schedule.

I want my child to travel with an airline using their Unaccompanied Minors service – who will the airline hand my child over to?

Our team details and pick up point will be shared with the parents/guidance and the participants before the date of arrival. The details can be shared with the airlines if required. Our staff will be waiting for your ward at the airport and will carry proof of identity.

Will I be covered by medical/travel insurance?

It is mandatory for all participants must be covered under travel and medical insurance policy. This is not included in the programme fee. All participants are open to exploring different options available for travel and medical insurance. They can choose to avail service as per their requirements.

Our co-course team is fully equipped to take care of any medical emergency and assist you accordingly. In case of any such situation during the programme, kindly contact our team available on the ground. She/he will assist you as appropriate. Kindly note any expense pertaining to treatment, tests, medicines or surgery (if required) is expected to be borne by the participant.

Do you arrange visas?

We do not arrange visa for the participants. You will need to arrange for your own visa before travel. Post completion of the application we will issue admission letter for all the participants for them to include it as part of the visa application.

For our partners’ school, we encourage them to do travel booking and visa formalities for the entire group via a trusted travel agent.

Students from grade 8 through grade 12 are applicable to apply for the GRIP and AIYS programme.

Students from grade 7 through grade 12 are applicable to apply for the GUIP programme

What are the requirements for admission?

The applicant should be 13 years or older at the time of application. Students studying the ICSE, CBSE, IB MYP, IB DP, IGCSE curriculum can apply for the programme.

Are all your tutors NUS and NTU academics?

Yes, all our teaching staff in Singapore is NUS or NTU academics.

What can I expect from the teaching methods you will use?

We follow a very unique pedagogy for all our programmes. All our programmes are based on applied learning and research methodology. We believe in learning by doing so the ratio of theory to the practical component in all our programmes is 30:70.

How should I prepare for the programmes?

Are your on-course and teaching staff all native speakers?

All our programmes are conducted in English language. All of our on-course and teaching staff are well equipped in the language.

Can I be accommodated in a room next to my friend?

We will take your request into consideration, but we can’t guarantee it.

Can my parents stay with me?

The accommodation included in the programme fee is only for the participants. Parents can look for accommodation near their ward residence. There are plenty of options available.

Must I stay in the accommodation?

Yes, it is mandatory for all our participants to stay in the accommodation provided by Corporate Gurukul. This enhances the overall experience and helps in collaborating and networking.

a. Are the participant rooms and classrooms air-conditioned?

We want all our students to experience the university lifestyle. If the accommodation is provided at NUS dormitories then all the rooms will be non-air-conditioned. All the classrooms at the campus are air-conditioned. All the facility is subject to availability hence we cannot guarantee for the same.

If we have to accommodate participants outside the university campus then the accommodation details will be shared during the application process.

Will I be able to launder my clothes?

Yes, you can launder your clothes if you are put up at university hostels. There are Washer and Dryer provided in each block for you to use at a charge of 1 SGD per wash and dry. You need to carry travel iron for your personal use.

What measures do you take to care for the safety of all students?

The CG on-course team stays on campus for the duration of the programme and can be approached for any assistance. All updates are shared with parents on a regular basis through WhatsApp. The contact details of the CG on-course team will be shared with parents during the orientation session which will be conducted prior to the departure of the students to Singapore (typically 10-15 days prior to the departure).

Will students be allowed to go out on their own during the course?

Singapore is one of the safest countries in the world. CG’s on-course team will be available to assist the participants from the time they land in Singapore till the time they head back for their home location. Participants are allowed to explore the country during their free time. They will be allowed to go out only in groups, with charged phones and should be back by 8 pm to the campus.

What happens if I get sick during the course?

CG on-course team will assist the child in seeking medical attention at the National University Hospital, which is very close to NUS hostel where the participants will be staying. It is mandatory for all students to be covered under a travel insurance policy which can take care of any medical expenses. Any expenses beyond the amount covered under the insurance policy will need to be covered by the participant. It is therefore suggested that additional money is made available to your child to deal with unexpected events.

Will students be provided with local transportation?

All local transport for the itinerary in the schedule will be taken care by Corporate Gurukul. All local transport will be by air-conditioned coach. Any local transport beyond the itinerary/ schedule mentioned will be taken care by the participants.
